Dr. Arakel Davtian completed his medical schooling at Yerevan State Medical Institute and his residency training at King Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Upon completing his fellowship training in psychopharmacology and research at the USC Medical Center Department of Psychiatry, he served in the department as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry for two years. Dr. Davtian has been a Diplomate of American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology since 2000.
Along with his private practice, Dr. Davtian provides psychiatric care for underserved populations in community-based settings in the greater Los Angeles area. For more than 15 years, Dr. Davtian has been specializing in the treatment of a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders, including Schizophrenia, Bipolar Affective Disorder, Major Depression, Generalized Anxiety and Panic Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and ADHD. During his career, Dr. Davtian had been intensively involved as Principal Investigator in clinical trials and worked closely with Pharmaceutical Companies for the development of new pharmacological treatments of major medical and psychiatric illnesses. Dr. Davtian also speaks Armenian, Russian, and Spanish.
In his spare time, Dr. Davtian enjoys skiing, biking, hiking, playing the flute, and general aviation.
