Psychiatrists are medical doctors who treat patients both through psychotherapy and medication, while psychologists aid patients through counseling and behavioral intervention and do not prescribe medication.
If you are not sure what service you need, you can either ask your primary care physician or one of our staff personnel.
Our providers are contracted with most commercial insurance carriers; however, the behavioral health coverage often varies depending on the insurance carrier, so we highly recommend that you check with your insurance to determine your eligibility by giving them a call or checking through your online account. We also do eligibility checks based on your insurance information when you make your initial appointment.
If you are a Medical or Medicare beneficiary, our staff personnel will help you find a provider.
You will be charged according to the applicable copayments or deductible per your insurance carrier. For information about your coverage, deductible, or copayment amount, call the behavioral health line of your insurance carrier, located on the back of your insurance card. If you don't have health insurance, please ask one of our staff personnel about your out-of-pocket visit costs.
For patients who are paying out-of-pocket, the charges are comparable to the payments we accept from insurance carriers.
To request an appointment, you can fill out your information on our Contact Form. You can also email call our appointment line at: (818) 240-0108.
When requesting an appointment, please leave your name, phone number, and the name of the provider you'd like to see.
Most insurance companies mandate that you inform them in advance before seeking services from a behavioral health provider. We recommend that you first contact us to see which of our providers you will be seeing. Then, call your insurance carrier to know whether you need authorization to see the provider with whom you made an appointment. It is important to be specific about whether you'll be seeing a psychologist or psychiatrist because the authorization process varies depending on the service.
If authorization is needed and the service you are requesting is approved, you will be given an authorization number. Please bring this authorization number, along with the rest of the paperwork provided in the Patient Portal to your first appointment.
